This volume provides a source of information for the further education of medical practitioners and others in the Science of Aviation Physiology, which is the fundamental basis of Aerospace as well as Aviation Medicine. The subjects covered include all the major areas in which physiological effects can be produced in man by the alien environment of flight. This is one of the first books that deals specifically and comprehensively with physiological factors and, in particular, with the principles practised at the RAF Institute of Aviation Medicine. In all the major fields the object has been to cover the literature and recent advances up to the end of 1963. The material has in many cases been used as a basis for various lectures, but only in a much modified and less extensive form.
