On a map with the routes across the Atlanic Ocean you can see that the war was still on at publishing time: The then secret air bases on Greenland - Bluie West Eight (later Sondrestrom Air Base, now Kangerlussuaq) and Bluie West 1 (now Narsarsuaq) are not shown on the map.
