ONE day he was Flight-lieutenant "Topper" Brown just a rather dumb, slow young pilot everybody liked- but laughed at. The idea of Topper ever becoming an ace was too far-fetched.
 
 
 
Then he was shot up and crash-landed. And out of the flames rose a new Topper -a pilot who could fly anything that had wings and fly it brilliantly an ace who could outfight anything the Luftwaffe put up against him, who could hold a Spitfire in flaming shreds together miraculously long enough to clear the skies of Nazis.
