New Zealand Ordnance Badge (c. WWI)
 
In response to economic considerations arising from the challenges of distance from traditional supply sources and the impacts of the 1914-1919 war, a decision was made to establish an Ordnance Corps Section tasked with inspecting and manufacturing artillery ammunition. This section was founded on April 1, 1915, and was stationed at Fort Balance in Wellington. As a component of the Royal New Zealand Artillery, the Ordnance Corps Section proudly wore the Badge of the Royal New Zealand Artillery.
