The Admiral's Baby (1996) By Laurens Van Der Post
Presents the personal story of a World War II POW who stays behind in Indonesia in August 1945 to help preserve peace and ends up overseeing the same Japanese who had held him in captivity and ordered his execution.
Having been kept in brutal conditions by the Japanese during the war Van der Post was freed 2 weeks after Hiroshima and in a weak state, was put in charge of his Japanese captors, and stayed in Java to keep the peace. This is his testimony of that era.
