The Eddie Chapman Story (1953) By Frank Owen

The incredible story of the London safecracker who worked for Hitler and British Intelligence at the same time.

Through the night skies of wartime England droned a lone German aircraft. A man struggled to drop through an escape hatch; his parachute held him back. A boot on his seat, and he was through, falling. Then his parachute opened - and Eddie Chapman came home.

Eddie Chapman - ex-Guardsman turned safe-blower in the hungry days of the nineteen-thirties. Chapman, captured by the Germans when they overran the Channel Islands, turned to Hitler for employment and was given the Iron Cross for his services.

Told by Frank Owen, this story of a colourful, intriguing personality is hardly believable, and yet the detail is too convincing for it to be fiction.
