A very rare book that was provided to Doctors that had to treat the large number of returned servicemen who had contracted a VD during WWI. For example, around 60,000 Australian soldiers ended up contracting venereal disease by the end of the First World War.
The Book also includes several Australian ephemera on venereal diseases including:
1) Venereal Diseases: Act and Regulations dealing with Venereal diseases and Information concerning their Prevention and Cure. Compiled by the Commissioner under the Venereal Diseases Act 1918 by direction of the Minister of Public Health Hon. D. Storey. Printed for the Department of Public Health NSW in 1919.
2) Venereal Disease Act 1918 Form E: Warning notice to patients suffering from venereal diseases, including a warning not to marry or else at risk of fine or imprisonment.
3) Form G: Certificates of Cure, to certify when one is cured
